Matt Rainnie is the host and producer of CBC Radio One's ''Mainstreet'', the afternoon show on CBCT-FM in Prince Edward Island. After graduating with a journalism degree from the University of King's College in 1993, Rainnie started as a television reporter and videojournalist before moving to radio. As an actor, Rainnie has been featured on CBC Radio's ''Basic Black'' and ''Madly Off in All Directions'', and also on CBC Television's ''On the Road Again'' and ''Emily of New Moon''.〔 Rainnie hosted a national radio show in the summer of 2005 called "Lost and Found." That show returned in the summer of 2006.〔 He has also guest hosted CBC Radio's ''Sounds Like Canada''. In April/May 2008 he hosted an Atlantic Canadian TV show called ''Short Film Face Off'', where regional filmmakers compete for a CBC production deal.
